Case Studies on European eBanking Published by Celent

Celent Communications has published a series of four case studies examining and analyzing electronic banking in the European market. Each of these case studies highlights both the bank's business strategy, as well as the technology strategy of the financial institution. These case studies show implementations at some of the most sophisticated e-banks in the world.

Deutsche Bank's Wireless Strategy This case study examines the world's largest bank's wireless strategy. In particular, Deutsche Bank has implemented wireless banking and trading using mobile devices that support the WAP standard. Deutsche Bank's wireless offering is extensive and includes domestic and international funds transfers, as well as trading of equities, bonds and options.  Banking via Interactive TV at Cr馘it Agricole Cr馘it Agricole, the largest bank in France, has long been a pioneer in establishing new electronic channels. The latest, based on interactive satellite TV has seen more rapid uptake than any of the bank's other channels, including the Internet and wireless devices. Mobile Commerce at Nordic Baltic (Merita) Scandinavia has long stood out as the leading region in terms of the development of wireless technologies. Merita Bank, in turn, has been one of the most aggressive banks in the world in terms of pursuing electronic channels. One of the first to offer Internet banking and trading, as well as wireless banking, this case study examines Merita's evolving wireless strategy.  Mobile Trading and Banking at Banesto Banesto was the first firm in Spain to offer wireless services using the rapidly emerging WAP standard. The bank was faster to market even than the mobile telephone network operators. This case study highlights the impact that Banesto has been able to achieve with its wireless system.   Members of Celent's Retail Banking and Retail Securities & Investments services can access these reports by clicking on the button to the right.
