Branch Automation Solutions in Europe: Market Overview and Evaluation of Vendors' Solutions Two Reports Published by Celent

In two new reports, "An Overview of the European Branch Automation Technology Market," and " ," Celent examines the business and IT trends shaping the European branch automation technology market. Both reports provide detailed information on criteria requested by banks, architectures deployed, standards, and spending. The second gives an in-depth analysis of 10 branch automation vendors that are active in the European market (BANQIT, Fidelity IS, Financial Objects, Finantix, Getronics, Misys Retail Banking, S1 Corp, Siebel Systems, System Access, Unisys).

Isabella Fonseca, Celent analyst and co-author of the report, stated that, "Although branches have been available to customers for a long time, it is only recently that banks have begun upgrading their existing technology with external solutions and integrating it with other applications and channels at the bank. We expect that an increased focus on CRM and wealth management technology in the banking industry will lead banks to innovate their branches and consider open architectures for more control over future modifications."

According to Axel Pierron, Celent analyst and co-author of the report, "Branch automation is, and will continue to be, a critical issue. For the entire commercial banking industry in Europe, we expect IT spending for branch automation to experience a 6% growth rate over the next two years— increasing from 2% of spending in 2004, to 8% by 2006, to a total of €7.9 billion. "A tight synchronization between marketing, sales and operational resources and processes will be a significant point of investment," adds Mr. Pierron.

The Market Overview report is 33-pages long and contains 19 figures.
