Internet Banking Solutions Offered by Core Processors

October 19, 2001

Abstract

New York, NY, USA October 19, 2001

Celent  Communications provides insight into the retail Internet banking solutions of leading core processing providers.

In a new report titled, , Celent Communications provides analysis and advice for financial institutions in the market to purchase, or upgrade, retail Internet banking solutions. Seven solution providers are evaluated and compared: ALLTEL, BISYS, Fiserv, Jack Henry & Associates, Metavante, NCR, and Sanchez Computer Associates.

Although late-to-market to offer Internet banking solutions, these companies have quickly been able to launch hundreds of clients in the past couple of years. While these applications tend not to be as advanced as those marketed by “Internet firms,” such as Corillian or S1 Corporation, they cover the basics well.

Note: The providers target very different market segments. This comparison is not meant to imply that those companies with the most clients are the “best”. For example, Fiserv targets small financial institutions while Sanchez Computer Associates pursues global 1,000 firms.

“In these shaky economic times, established providers, such as those profiled in this report, offer a significant value proposition to financial institutions – financial stability,” comments Meredith Hickman Outwater, author of the report. “Financial institutions are closely evaluating the financials of the providers with whom they plan to do business. They may even be willing to forgo a subset of functionality in return for the security in knowing the solution they select will likely not be eliminated.”
